The processes you need to follow to calibrate a monitor for normal office/home use and light photography /photo editing are almost similar.

Calibration and Panel Type

IPS panel technology

IPS panel technology is much better than TN panel

The panel technology you go for determines the results you can get with calibration.

Buying a TN panel that costs you just a few hundred dollars may land you into problems. Because these panels naturally don’t reproduce colors well.

Moreover their colors is always shifting. And this is not good news because color consistency is important for calibration.

This means that apart from the fact that you’ll not get good results with calibration, you will also have to calibrate a bit too often.

Software calibration certainly does not give you the convenience to compare and analyze the colors that your screen displays from the actual colors.

Ideally, lack of a hardware device means you will mainly rely on your vision and perception of colors.

However, this method can significantly enhance the color accuracy of your monitor. And is used by many people in home and office environments.

Another advantage about this method is that you won’t have to spend on a hardware device which is
